Journalist Evaristo Costa, 47, was admitted to a hospital in the city of Cambridge, England, due to complications related to Crohn's disease. It is an inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract.
Evaristo shared the news with his followers on Instagram. He said he arrived at the hospital on Friday morning (12) and was in severe pain.
“I have severe stomach pain, lots of diarrhea, fever and weight loss. All this leads to weakness and fatigue,” the journalist said, adding that he had to take morphine.
The disease was diagnosed several years ago. “Low immunity makes my body vulnerable to invasion by viruses and bacteria, like what happened in my leg a month ago. If I don't take care of myself, complications such as anemia and serious infections can arise.” Regarding his leg, Evaristo referred to an erysipelas (skin infection) he suffered in November last year.
