Every night he cuts car tires to relieve his gum disease

The mystery of flat tires in a remote Italian village is finally solved after the villagers learn that a neighbor's dog is behind these acts of sabotage.

It all started with an initial complaint to the local police (the Carabinieri) from a resident of the village of Vastogirardi, who had seen a puncture on his vehicle during the night.

Several complaints followed in this small village of 700 residents, but authorities failed to arrest the suspect, France Live reported on Monday, citing local media.

Since the patrols and hiding places were unsuccessful, the police had to install a surveillance camera system in the village in the hope of identifying the suspect.

And now the images captured by the camera show the suspect, a dog named “Billy,” who, according to French media, acted with his face uncovered to commit his crime.

“Billy's” owner had no sympathy for his nighttime escape attempts, but it turned out the dog was suffering from gum disease that caused him to bite the rubber on tires to relieve himself.

Last June, a 75-year-old French pensioner from Toulouse was arrested for unnecessarily puncturing around twenty car tires, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
