Ezra Miller made his first public appearance in nearly two years Monday night, attending the Los Angeles premiere of DC Studios’ The Flash.

The embattled actor spoke candidly about the misconduct allegations against him and various legal issues, addressing fans and many industry stakeholders at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Miller, who is non-binary and uses the pronouns they and them, made a big show by talking to David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, the heads of Warner Bros. Film Group, and James Gunn and Peter Safran, CEOs of DC Studios, recognized “Your grace, judgment and caring in the context of my life. And to make this moment a reality.”

After a series of escalating incidents, Miller was charged with burglary in Vermont in 2022 after police investigated her involvement in a robbery at a private home. Their troubles began in 2020 after video surfaced of Miller appearing to choke a woman outside a bar in Iceland. No charges were brought. The actor was also arrested twice in Hawaii, once for disorderly conduct and harassment. Miller pleaded not guilty to a single misconduct charge in the Hawaii case and paid a $500 fine. The allegation of harassment was dismissed.

Miller was greeted by a rock star at the premiere of The Flash and introduced by director Andy Muschietti.

“I love you Maestro,” Miller told the filmmaker. “I think you are amazing and your work is monumental.”

The studio announced in advance that the Los Angeles premiere would be Miller’s only promotional commitment for the film. They walked the red carpet and didn’t condone traditional on-camera and print interviews. Miller’s “The Flash” co-stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were in attendance at the event, as wasPussyetti’s “It Chapter Two” co-star Jessica Chastain.

The Flash opens in North America on Friday. Despite the euphoric response it received when it premiered at this year’s CinemaCon and internal adulation as one of the greatest superhero films of all time, The Flash grossed a paltry $70 million in its first weekend of early admission.
