The long-running series “The simpsons”which is in its 39th season, has been able to reflect the times and has admitted in one of its chapters that in that moment an action was left behind that had become one of its identity markers.
Seeing Homer choking his son Bart with his hands might seem strange in the days when The Simpsons hit theaters, but sensibilities have changed. And quietly, this storyline, repeated in the family scenes that gave the series its identity, disappeared since Season 32.
But in the current season, an episode highlighted this “absence” and made the reasons clear.

In the third episode of season 32, there is a scene in which a new family arrives in the neighborhood where The Simpsons live. One of the characters shakes Homer’s hand and praises the strength with which he does it.
Then Marge says that this strength is because of that “All the years Homer was hanging Bart.” Something to which Homer replies, “Just kidding. I don’t do that anymore. The times have changed.”
Another change that was made for similar reasons was the disappearance of the character Apu as he was seen as promoting a racial stereotype.
