Three suspects were arrested on Wednesday evening near a hotel complex in Duberger-Les Saules during an intervention in which items related to firearms were discovered.
Police officers from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) first intercepted a vehicle near the Hôtel-Motel Le Gîte on Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard around 9 p.m.
“The police made observations that led them to arrest three men between the ages of 19 and 24 in connection with firearms offenses,” says spokeswoman Sandra Dion, without elaborating on the nature of the crimes. these observations.

Based on information gathered at the scene, a security perimeter was quickly set up around a hotel room there. The hotel complex was evacuated for safety reasons.
The Tactical Intervention Group (GTI) then took over securing the area in question. During a search of the area, items related to firearms were found.
“The three people initially arrested after the wiretapping are therefore received by investigators from the MALSAIN project. The investigation is therefore ongoing,” explains Ms. Dion.

No one was injured during the operation.
This is the second time in less than a month that the Hôtel-Motel Le Gîte has been the target of a firearms incident. On September 4th, projectile impacts were detected in a vehicle parked in front of the hotel complex.
