Flight attendant found dead

An American Airlines flight attendant was found dead in a hotel room in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was found by Marriott cleaning staff on Monday evening (25), two days after checking out. However, one detail caught our attention: she had a sock in her mouth.

According to 6ABC, hotel staff found the 66yearold woman unconscious and called rescuers. Doctors pronounced her dead at around 10:40 p.m. local time. Police were called and concluded the room showed no signs of forced entry or a fight. Sealed prescription bottles were found in the room and investigators said she had taken “multiple medications.”

The cause of death has not yet been determined, but Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC10 that she “suffered a sudden death.” Small confirmed to the outlet that the case is considered “suspicious” and is being investigated by the police homicide detective division.

“Everyone is still trying to figure out what happened and why her crew just abandoned her,” a source who works as a flight attendant for American Airlines tells PEOPLE. The insider noted that the woman’s crew was in Los Angeles.

No one has been arrested so far and no weapons have been found during the investigation. An autopsy is still pending to determine the cause of the flight attendant’s death.
