Vanessa Pilon, who we have seen as a host and columnist on numerous television and radio projects over the years, including Salut Bonjour, Glam, Occupation double extra, Soleil tout inclusive, ICI Radio-Canada and many more, has been on the recently Canvas more discreet.
In fact, Vanessa consciously and preemptively reinvigorated herself and slowed down. Although she slowly withdrew from traditional media – although not completely – she kept very busy, taking time to think about her next steps, working on a business idea, writing magazine articles and staying active on digital platforms. On her Instagram page, the one we love to follow shares snippets of her everyday life as a mother, her house in the country and her thoughts from the day (without forgetting her carefully chosen looks). Additionally, yesterday she announced the arrival of a new passion project, The School of Life podcast.
In the first episode, she explains that to her, the expression the show is named after simply means continuing to learn, be curious, and become better prepared to navigate the human experience.
The concept of the creator, who describes herself as a real all-rounder, is therefore intended to be a formula for conversation with passionate experts in order to answer their own questions in the episodes dedicated to them and to enable an open discussion on different topics on these different topics.
His ambitions with such a personal project? Quite simply: “To be a nicer person and to be better able to cope with the weather of life,” she affirms in her introduction (01. Why do we hardly see you on TV anymore?), which sets the table for what awaits us .
Among her revelations, conveyed through a mix of strength and vulnerability, we learn that she was no longer able to thrive in what she had experienced in her career.
Those who listen to me will be because it is not forced. On television, we don’t decide who we see on our screens. There were people who were angry that I appeared on their screens while you are here because you chose it [ce projet]. It brings with it a freedom that I really, really need.
“Will you like it, am I funny enough?” Will I be ridiculed if I share some of my beliefs? » Vanessa wanted to move away from her thirst for validation and achievement and delve deeper into topics about which there isn’t always consensus. The topics covered include man, spirituality and personal development, but also nature, which plays an important role in his life and work.
Nature has become my life coach. I want it to be in the podcast.
At just 38 years old, Vanessa has already come a long way. For her, who experienced sacrifice and the fulfillment of multiple dreams at a young age, the pursuit of success and the endless search for a way to fill the void, this was not a sustainable approach to happiness… C It was about pausing before that Disaster that she came to the conclusion that true satisfaction with her life could only be achieved through efforts at genuine and deep self-love.
Although she is fully aware of her privileges, what she wants most is to bring about change and, above all, to bring attention to the environment and individualistic habits. “I want to embody a flower that through its roots nourishes other wildflowers in a more fertile community soil,” she explains, illustrating the rebellion of gentleness and inspiration that awaits her.
But that’s not all the big announcements: In the same podcast we also find out that they are in the “3rd season”. Quarter” of the conception of her company Pissenlit, which seems to be very much in line with her vision for the future. We still don’t know what it is, but we can’t help but make a connection to a piece she signed in Elle Québec this summer, titled “Femmes-Dandenlits.”
To find out more, we invite you to listen for yourself to what Vanessa tells in “The School of Life”.
