Former Bolivian minister urges unity of Movement for Socialism

Regarding the event that will take place this Sunday in Cochabamba in the presence of the President of the MAS-IPSP (Political Instrument for the Sovereignty of Peoples), Evo Morales, the President of the Plurinational State, Luis Arce, and the Vice-President , David Choquehuanca, Moldiz He explained that “it signifies the beginning of a convergence or a process of no return”.

In statements to the DTV broadcaster, if that doesn’t happen, he said, “Well, it will be more difficult to start the reconstruction this Sunday, or is it the beginning of a process with progress, setbacks, with conflicts, but the beginning of a process of the convergence of the democratic and revolutionary solution of the contradictions, or it will be the beginning of a path that can lead us to a path of no return that would be very serious for the country and the Bolivian people”.

Referring to the contradictions within the MAS-IPSP between supporters of Morales and the Arce-Choquehuanca binomial, the former minister saw it as a good sign that the leadership of Bolivia’s largest party had invited the President and the Vice-President to the event and both had accepted .

In his opinion, both Morales and Arce have leadership of different natures, but neither would be great without a collective subject.

He warned that if MAS-IPSP loses the election due to mistakes like the ones committed, it will have repercussions for the country such as loss of sovereignty, unemployment and a wave of privatizations, among other negative decisions.

“So we mustn’t put a finger over the sun, there are tensions and contradictions and it’s time to recognize that. For months I’ve been pointing this out and I’ve always denied it and there it is, it’s the goal, what needs to be done now is to synthesize all of this, start discussing politics, ideology and not accusations and contradictions politics humiliate,” stressed the equally renowned intellectual.

Moldiz noted: “If this path of tensions continues and the split triumphs in 2025, in a hypothetical case, this could result in the MAS being defeated in the elections and the consequences will be that Morales, Arce, authorities and leaders they have to leave the country or go into hiding, and the Bolivian people will be the hardest hit”.
