Former Las Vegas Raiders star Damon Arnette was reportedly arrested in Texas last month on gun and meth charges.

Arnette, who was fired by the Raiders in 2021 over a disturbing video in which he threatened to kill someone while brandishing weapons, was sentenced to community punishment in May last year for his involvement in a dispute with casino attendants in Las Vegas had brandished a firearm.

Less than a year after the conviction, the defense attorney found himself in trouble again after he was again caught possessing a gun and the recreational drug methamphetamine.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has revealed that Arnette was arrested Jan. 6 in Richardson and charged with possession of less than one gram of meth and illegally carrying a firearm.

Further details about the arrest are not yet available.

However, Arnette's lawyer insists that reports of her client's arrest on meth and firearm possession charges are “simply false.”

“Our client was unable to provide law enforcement with his prescription for a legitimate medication at the time of the stop,” Jason Lampert of Salzano, Ettinger, Lampert & Wilson, LLP and Thomas Wynne of Milner Wynne said in a statement to NFL Media .

“The arrest was based on Mr. Arnette’s failure to prove that the drug was prescribed. Had he been able to do this at the time of the stop, there would have been no arrest for the firearms controlled substance.”

The Raiders selected Arnette 19th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft after his impressive rise at Ohio State before making nine appearances in his rookie season.

Before his release, he had also appeared for the team four times in the 2021 season.

However, in November of that year, Arnette was fired following two lawsuits and a disturbing video he posted on social media.

The clip showed Arnette repeatedly threatening to kill someone while brandishing what appeared to be semi-automatic weapons.

Two months after this video was released, he allegedly brandished a gun at the Park MGM Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

Arnette was ultimately sentenced to 50 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine by Clark County District Judge Ron Israel last May after she was charged with a weapons crime. The judge in Vegas also told him he had to stay away from firearms.

He had changed his plea to guilty after previously pleading not guilty to charges of assault and drawing a deadly weapon.

The former Ohio star was with the Chiefs at the time of his arrest but was released by Kansas City due to the allegations.

Later that year, he was also arrested in Miami and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license.

After his court hearing last year, Arnette announced he was seeking a return to the NFL, saying he had had discussions with the Dallas Cowboys but that the lawsuit needed to be resolved for talks to move forward.
