FOX draws over 16 MILLION viewers for USA’s 3-1 World Cup loss to Holland as USMNT attracts another big audience despite tournament failure in Qatar

Over 16 million Americans tuned in at the height of FOX’s World Cup coverage to watch the USA’s Round of 16 defeat by Holland in Qatar on Saturday morning.

FOX Soccer, America’s World Cup broadcaster, released its numbers on Sunday night, announcing that viewership peaked in the second half when 16.368 million fans watched the game.

The broadcaster said it was a 163 percent increase in average round of 16 viewership for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, for which the United States did not qualify.

The USA lost 3-1 to Holland and left the tournament after leaving Group B alongside England.

But overall, FOX has recorded good viewership for USA games throughout the tournament – suggesting the USA team is enjoying increasing support ahead of co-hosting the 2026 World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada.
