Fox News owner admits repeating Trumps lies

Fox News, misogyny and bullying

The American media has been regularly challenged for several years, but rarely abused as badly as Fox News.

According to the information we received during the defamation lawsuit brought by the Dominion Voting Systems company, we were able to confirm that several of the stars of the popular and influential network have not hesitated to monetize disinformation.

Even more cynically, they conceded that Trump lied and that no evidence of voter fraud could be found. The network even questioned its decision to announce Biden’s win in Arizona because the announcement caused ratings to plummet. The tension, even wrong, would have been more profitable.

New episode of misogyny?

If Fox News is already in the midst of a riot, the announcement of allegations that producer Abby Grossberg is leveling against the network will do nothing to ease the tremors. Amid allegations of rampant misogyny and intimidation, she accuses her former bosses of using her as a scapegoat.

According to the producer, who contributed to the shows Tucker Carlson and Maria Bartiromo, in Dominion Voting Systems’ lawsuit, attorneys for Fox News allegedly pressured her into providing misleading information during her testimony.

The real purpose of the network would have been to portray Ms. Grossberg and host Bartiromo as the two main culprits behind the repeated lies about Dominion Voting Systems’ manipulation of the results.

Not content with describing the pressure she is subjected to, the producer also described a work environment where sexism is pervasive, both on the part of colleagues and managers.

The producer’s allegations are reminiscent of the station’s far from glorious past in terms of dealing with female employees.

Many former animators and management staff did not fail to denounce the harassment they had suffered. Several of these revelations had also led to the making of the film Bombshell (Scandal).

What future for Fox News?

After his producer’s allegations, Fox News was quick to counter. The network responded by filing a lawsuit against Ms Grossberg before announcing she was immediately placed on forced leave.

Aside from these court steps, it seems legitimate to me to ponder the future of Fox News. Can we keep the same stars in the air but stem the flow of misinformation? Can we wean an audience who risks turning to rivals like Newsmax and One America News Network when robbed of their love?

Fox News and the Republican Party are going through the same crisis. After hugging Trump, can we part with it and still be just as profitable by eliminating what owner Rupert Murdoch called “some crazy stuff”?
