A Gatineau resident scooped $1 million during the televised “Célébration 2024” gala that aired Sunday night on TVA.

In the draw, which included 41 finalists from several regions of Quebec, Roland Charette was lucky, holding the 18 ball.

Thanks to the million dollars he won, Mr. Charette wants to take his son on a trip to discover Paris and buy a house. “I will remember it forever, it's great emotions!” he explained.

The winning ticket was purchased at the PJC – Jean Coutu Pharmacy on Maloney Boulevard East in Gatineau, Loto-Québec said.

For their part, France Lavallée from Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare and Jean-Félix L. Ferland from Crabtree qualified among the three finalists after the draw during the gala and each won the sum of US$100,000. The other participants won at least $25,000.

The Célébration Gala took place at the Théâtre du Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau and was hosted by Véronic DiCaire, Gregory Charles and Sébastien Benoit. Ginette Reno, Pierre Lapointe, Guylaine Tanguay, 2Frères, Gabrielle Destroismaisons, Barnev Valsaint, Dawn Cumberbatch, Sophie Grenier and the dance group DM Nation were also there.
