Gil taught 200 students in the Recife public school system

Last weekend he even went one step further and applied himself to a PreEnem class for public school students in Recife (PE). On the stage as a teacher, Gil saw a little of himself in his students.
“In addition, I have studied in public schools all my life, so it is impossible not to identify with these young people who attended Aulão. “I’m reliving some special memories from my youth, so this moment is certainly very special for me,” he said in an interview with Earth.

In addition to the PreEnem event, Gil has been publishing free math videos for high school students on YouTube for several months. Here too, the method he proposes to promote is linked to his own career.
“When I was younger, I learned a lot through video courses on YouTube, so being on the other side now and passing on my knowledge to other young people is something that really warms my heart,” he enthuses.
Gil hopes to gradually make a difference in the Brazilian educational landscape. He also commented on the number of people enrolled in Enem this year, which, although higher than in 2022 and 2021, is still well below prepandemic levels.
For the economist, who has already revealed that he dreams of becoming president of Brazil, the recovery will come with “investment in the region and in public policies.”
The secret also lies in the hands of teachers, who, in his opinion, have the “power to reinvent themselves” to attract the new generation so connected to the virtual world. “The great value and power of education will never be lost,” he is optimistic.
