In a shocking series of text messages, the woman accused of driving her boyfriend, an Army veteran, to suicide, told him he would never see his daughter again and sent him a video of her gave oral sex to her new husband.
Mandie Reusch, 35, was charged Tuesday outside Pittsburgh with assisted suicide and molestation in connection with the June 2021 death of her estranged boyfriend and daughter’s father, Kevin Metzger, 37.
exclusively received dozens of offensive messages sent over WhatsApp, in which Reusch urged the former soldier to commit suicide, threatened to shoot him and mocked the death of his beloved dog.
She detailed having sex with other men and sent a 49-second clip of her performing oral sex on her new partner while berating Metzger with messages saying he was “ugly, bald and has rotten teeth.”
Police said the messages she was charged with were among the “most extreme” examples of bullying she had ever seen.
Her attorney, Phil DiLucente, told that the text messages were “immoral” but that he was confident they did not meet the criminal threshold.
Just six weeks after the spate of text messages, Metzger used Facebook before taking his own life. He wrote, “I can’t do this anymore.” She needs [to be] fined. “The courts are too slow.”

Mandie Reusch, 35, is accused of assisting suicide and will appear in court for the first time on June 27
In messages sent via WhatsApp and seen exclusively by , Reusch tells Metzger she’s moving in with her new boyfriend and boasts about his sexual prowess.
The news storm began at 2:49 a.m. on May 5, 2021 — just over a month before Metzger took his own life.
She tells her child’s father that her daughter will call her new boyfriend “Father” from now on.
“You won’t see her on Father’s Day or any other holiday,” Reusch writes, while complaining that Metzger owes her money.
“My kids will literally be better off with any role model other than you… If you show up here again, we have a gun and I’m going to call the police.”
“From now on, it’s us [her new boyfriend’s surname] and you don’t exist [He] is her father now. Not you. Never ask about her again. she is not your daughter You’ll never hear from her again either.’
In another message, the suspect says she “hopes” for her daughter’s sake that he “kills himself.”
“She will call [him] “Dad” because he’s a much better daddy than you. Kill you. I’m serious… I actually want you to kill yourself because I think you’re the worst person on this planet.’
Kevin Metzger, 37, was the victim of what appeared to be endless abusive text messages that only ended when he took his own life in June 2021
In his obituary, Metzger’s daughter is described as “the light of his life”.
“Kevin just wanted to be a real dad and she tormented him for years,” a friend told
In various messages, Reusch accuses Metzger of spoiling Mother’s Day. Apparently for this reason she is willing to deny parental access.
“Who knows how great she’ll be when you see her again.” Or if she’ll even remember you,” she wrote.
In an exchange, Reusch says Metzger killed her dog, Zoe. She says she destroys a book of photos of the pet, that the dog actually hated him, and that she and her new boyfriend wanted to have sex in addition to the book.
“That damn dog hated you and ran away at every opportunity.” Just like I ran away to suck anyone’s cock but yours because you are literally the worst person I’ve ever met in my life have,” she wrote.
After saying that he killed her dog, Reusch says again that if he tries to get close to her, he will be shot.
Reusch repeatedly referred to Metzger as a “woman beater” and “abusive”.
Reusch sends Metzger a photo of her new boyfriend and says so [Metzger] ruined every vacation by screwing it up [Metzger’s] Bald and beer belly and rotting teeth.’
A friend of Metzger’s shared a Facebook post with saying Reusch tried to ‘get me to kill myself for the money.’ I got the texts.’
In that series of text messages, Reusch sent Metzger a clip of her performing oral sex on another man
“Kevin just wanted to be a real dad and she tormented him for years,” this friend told .
Reusch later says she will be moving to West Virginia with her child. “Call my fucking bluff,” she writes.
In a separate exchange, she wrote, “I wanted you to be normal and romantic for once.” I wanted you to come to an agreement and honor it. It wasn’t my fault we didn’t work. But damn it, I’ll draw the line if you turn out to be the abusive idiot that you are.’
Reusch followed the news with a 49-second clip showing a woman performing oral sex with her new partner. She doesn’t mention the clip in the text messages.
On Mother’s Day 2021, Reusch texted Metzger telling him she was going to have sex with her new partner since her daughter calls him “daddy,” prosecutors say
During the spate of text messages has seen, Metzger never responds.
Reusch’s lawyer has dismissed comparisons between his client’s allegations and the 2014 case of then 18-year-old Conrad Roy and then 17-year-old Michelle Carter.
In 2017, Carter was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter after it was revealed that she had sent Roy text messages encouraging him to commit suicide. He ended his life with carbon monoxide poisoning. Carter was released from prison in 2020.
DiLucente said prosecutors are comparing the two cases. ‘[Carter] “I actually told him that I encouraged him to plan it, the methods and the means, there’s none of that here, it’s an emotional relationship between two people involving their child,” the attorney said .
The lawyer said the messages sent by Reusch to Metzger could be considered “immoral”.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate that it’s a criminal charge like assisted suicide.” “There was no coercion, no coercion, no methods and no means,” he said.
“There are always two sides to a story, and our side of the story is told as this case unfolds,” added DiLucente.
“The preliminary negotiations will be lengthy. And I think there will be a wealth of information,” the lawyer concluded.
Reusch, of Greensburg, is due to return for another court hearing on June 27.
Prosecutors have been investigating Metzger’s death for two years.
Officials said his suicide note, which began with the words “Maybe she was right,” as well as posts on his Facebook page, described the “trail of torture and incitement” Reusch allegedly left behind. In a press release, prosecutors also called the messages she sent Metzger “disgusting and graphic.”
In court documents, Reusch is referred to as Metzger’s “every now and then” girlfriend. The couple previously lived together in Irwin, Pennsylvania.
At a press conference, police officer Steve Limani described the “bullying” Metzger was subjected to as one of the worst he had ever experienced.
“This is the next level or most extreme level of bullying I’ve ever seen, read and heard where someone is constantly telling someone to end their life,” Limani said.
“You talk about the top three triggers you can have when you make someone feel bad,” he added.
In a separate interview with CBS Pittsburgh, DiLucente said, “My God, if we start prosecuting people for texting each other harshly instead of verbally, then we’re on a different path in our legal system.”
