Gisele Bündchen says life as a top supermodel has caused so much stress that it’s almost too much to bear.

Bündchen spoke with Lee Cowan for a television interview that aired Sunday for CBS News Sunday Morning in which she compared her experiences to being “in tunnels.”

“I couldn’t breathe. And then I started being in studios and I felt like I was suffocating,” Bündchen shared. “I lived on the 9th floor and had to walk up the stairs because I was afraid I would get stuck in the elevator and hyperventilate.”

She continued describing her feelings, saying, “You know, when you can’t breathe even with the windows open, you think, ‘I don’t want to live like that,’ you know what I mean?”

“Have you really thought about jumping?” Cowan asked her.

“Yes. For about a second,” Bündchen replied.

Elsewhere in the interviewthe former Victoria’s Secret angel described her frenetic lifestyle at the time.

While “everyone was looking at me from the outside and thinking I had it all,” Bündchen said, “she was drinking three-cigarette mocha Frappuccinos for breakfast and a bottle of wine at night to calm herself down from all the coffee I was drinking.” Drink.”

Additionally, she said that she was “not sleeping, not traveling, not working – like my adrenal glands were basically burned out and my nervous system couldn’t take it anymore.”

Brazilian-born Bündchen recently told People that the recent “curve issues” she’s faced in her life — including her divorce from soccer legend Tom Brady — have been “very hard” on her family.

“It was a lot — in every area of my life,” she said earlier this week.

“I feel like every time it rains it pours. With all the twists and turns that life brings, all we can do is do the best we can given what is happening around us,” she added.

Bündchen and Brady jointly announced in October 2022 that they were divorcing after 13 years of marriage, both emphasizing that co-parenting their children was a shared priority.

Bündchen and her two children have since settled in Miami, where she said they have returned to public schools, pursued new hobbies and thrived.

“It makes me proud to see how they all become their own little individual selves, but how strong their principles and values are. It makes me so happy to see them grow into their own being,” she said.

Bündchen has also found solace in the wellness space and emphasizes self-care by meditating, exercising, and eating healthy to find balance.

“I think if I didn’t have all the different tools to support me during those times, it would have been very difficult,” she said.
