Last year, the Quebecers surpassed their goal by covering 2,776,191 km in two days. This event, which was first created during the pandemic to get the population moving, is being held this year to coincide with the 1000 km by bike.
In addition, the cyclists started the second day of their tour in the morning. At around 8:30 a.m., the cycling enthusiasts left Lac-Beauport for Quebec City.
After 60 km, the 222 teams make a first stop at Cégep de Lévis. The rest will be important as one of the longest stages of the tour follows in the afternoon. You follow the St. Lawrence River for more than 112 km and reach Montmagny.
Two cyclists per team then complete an 88.8 km loop to return to their starting point. Around 7:20pm they will mount their mounts for the final leg of this long day, which will take them via Route 132 to Laval University, where they are expected to arrive before 11:00pm.
Remember that the convoy will finish its crazy race around 2:35 p.m. on Sunday in Varennes, in Montérégie.
