Two Transavia passengers decided to file a complaint against the airline for neglect and animal cruelty because their 9-year-old dog, who ended his trip at the vet, was poorly cared for.
The pair were scheduled to travel between the Greek island of Préveza and Paris-Orly airport in France on Saturday, August 19, when they noticed the animal was having difficulty breathing, France Live reported on Sunday.
Long before the flight, the dog Tootsie refused to stay in the airport hall, and the situation became even worse when she had to climb into her dog crate to begin the journey in the hold.
According to the couple, members of the Dutch company refused to attach a bottle of water to his cage because of possible injuries, even though the weather that day was scorching hot.
After 4.5 hours of flying, the owners found their dog in a deplorable condition and severely dehydrated while suffering from breathing difficulties at around 9pm, it said.
Even if the animal has still acquired color after a visit to a veterinary clinic, the owners do not want to let the matter go and intend to file a complaint against the airline.
