Harvard President Claudine Gay Is Resigning

New York – Claudine Gay will resign as president of America's elite Harvard University. The university newspaper “The Harvard Crimson” first reported this on Tuesday. The New York Times confirmed this shortly afterwards and cited Gay's resignation letter. More recently, Gay came under pressure for controversial statements at an anti-Semitism hearing before a Congressional committee and for allegations of plagiarism. Initially there was no reaction from the university to the reports. According to the university newspaper, Gay's tenure, of about six months, would be the shortest in the history of Harvard University. Alan M. Garber, a senior administration official, will take on the role on an interim basis.
