The thrice-divorced Charles Saatchi once said, “If you’re a narcissist like me, you might have a hard time holding on to your wives.
“I never fully understand how it’s possible to become weary of my company, but it is definite and with reliable frequency.”
His candid comments came a year after his divorce from his third wife, Nigella Lawson, which had been sparked by shocking images showing him with his hand around her neck.
At the time of the 2014 interview, the ad executive-turned-art collector was in the early stages of his romance with beauty mogul Trinny Woodall.
But if Saatchi was perhaps optimistic that this relationship would be one he could keep, it seems history was doomed to repeat itself. Now, after ten years together, the couple appears to have gone their separate ways.

News: Trinny updated her Instagram followers about her new beginnings away from home with Saatchi
Trinny, 59, has spoken of the “grueling” fresh start that has seen her move out of the home she and Saatchi, 20 years her senior, shared.
In recent appearances on her Instagram, where she regularly shares videos to share her products with her 1.2 million followers, she seemed increasingly exhausted.
On March 14, she revealed that she had “a grueling couple of days ahead of me.”
Then, last Friday, she announced that she had moved. “I’ve moved — but now I’ve moved,” she told her followers, acknowledging that things had been “a bit up and down,” captioning her post, “It’s a new day, it’s a new morning.” , it is a new life . . .’
Over the weekend, she shared posts from a family ski vacation in France.
An emotional-sounding Trinny revealed she was spending time at a family chalet. “I’ve looked at this prospect for the last 30 years of my life. It’s the only consistent view I’ve ever had,” she said.
“Recently, with the big life change and moving house, it was important for me to come back here [daughter] Lyla and family just to have this moment, to listen to the birds, to be one with nature. Very healing.’
When asked about yesterday’s split, Saatchi said, “I’m sorry, nothing to add.”
Trinny and Saatchi’s romance came after he and Nigella divorced in 2013. After being pictured with his hands around Nigella’s neck, he accepted a police warning, although he argued the incident was little more than a “playful argument”.
Sparking speculation that she and longtime love Charles Saatchi have split, Trinny Woodall revealed on Instagram that she’s moved
During their romance, former stylist Trinny, best known for the hit BBC show What Not To Wear, which she co-hosted with friend Susannah Constantine, launched a hugely successful beauty and makeup empire, Trinny London, founded.
Saatchi, who is said to be worth around £100million, is not an investor – although he has played a memorable role in promoting the brand.
At the height of the first lockdown, he wandered naked into the bathroom the couple shared, unaware that Trinny was in the process of filming a video about an LED face mask that was livestreamed on Facebook.
Although Trinny’s personal worth is unknown, Trinny London has been estimated at £180m and counting.
In a 2021 interview, Trinny said that she “grew up a lot” during her relationship with Saatchi. “I don’t get away with stuff, so when I have some kind of outrage, he’s like, ‘Really, are you kidding?’ And then I go upstairs and I’m like, “Okay, let me grow up now.”
“I think that’s what happens when you’re with someone who’s been through a lot in their life and there’s no one more supportive of my business and jobs to be my champion.” The couple began dating in 2013 after Saatchi’s second wife, Kay Hartenstein, reportedly created a short list of women Saatchi — who’s been single since splitting from Nigella — might like to date.
Within three months of beginning their romance, Trinny had partially moved into Saatchi’s Chelsea home. In 2014, nine months into their relationship, the couple were seated at the same table outside Scott’s restaurant where Saatchi had been spotted with Nigella.
During a three-hour lunch, Trinny was seen wiping away tears as the couple appeared to have had an argument. Lawyers subsequently denied that any arguments had broken out.
At the time of the Nigella incident, Saatchi said he had just helped her “focus.”
However, Nigella explained that she saw a cute baby come by in a stroller and had remarked that she was looking forward to becoming a grandmother, sparking a falling out with her husband.
She said in court he told her, “I’m the only person you should be worried about.”
Nigella – who memorably accused Saatchi of “intimate terrorism” – added that her ex-husband “told everyone” that he was actually taking cocaine out of her nose.
Trinny has also previously experienced lovesickness in a relationship. In 2014, her former husband Johnny Elichaoff committed suicide after 20 years of battling an addiction to painkillers.
The couple, who were married for ten years before divorcing in 2009, had one daughter together, Lyla, who is now 19.
In an interview, Trinny said: “I worry about being a single mother, but I get good advice from Charles.
“He has a fabulous daughter, Phoebe, who is incredibly kind and smart. He has a great child because he raised her well.’
She offered a rare glimpse into their relationship when she told a podcast in 2021, “Any friend who has known me for years will know that I am the most self-sufficient person they have ever met.
“I know I’m paying for everything in my life except the roof over my head because I live with Charles. I respect every element of what I add to business expenses.«
That year she also announced that she had started smoking again due to a very stressful situation in her personal life.
Whether her new beginning will bring happier times remains to be seen.
