TVA Nouvelles decided to take the pulse of the citizens of the Quebec region to find out what they think of Prime Minister Legault’s about-face regarding the possible return of the third highway link.

“He tells so many lies that we no longer know what to believe. They play a bit of yo-yo with our brains. They say one deal, don’t do it and they say another deal,” said a woman driving a small truck.
Met me this morning, she adds. “It’s really sad, but that’s how it is. I really don’t believe it,” she says, referring to the Prime Minister’s statement.
A motorist is less strict, but does not believe that the project will be implemented. “We will see what will happen with Mr. Legault. I believe in the third term, but Mr. Legault…” the man points, gesturing.
Another driver sees no need for the third link. “I often work on the south coast. Often it is in the opposite direction. If we compare ourselves to Montreal, there is a big traffic problem there, but here we could invest the money elsewhere,” he says.
The tram seems to him to be a “more environmentally friendly and responsible solution for us, for the future, for our children,” he says.
