Why is Quebec inflation still stubborn

Here’s what Quebecers prefer to invest in

The stock market and real estate remain the most popular investments for Quebecers, ahead of life insurance and cryptocurrencies.

At least that’s the conclusion of a survey published by Hello Safe on Tuesday.

Of those surveyed in Quebec, 42.4% listed the stock market as one of their preferred investment solutions. In particular, young people aged 16 to 25 (49.38%) and over 56 (47.69%) prefer this placement, while those aged 36 to 45 are the least convinced (22.73%).

Real estate is the second most popular investment podium for Quebecers (36.1%), particularly among 26-35 year olds (72.73%).

Finally, life insurance (13.2%) and cryptocurrencies (12.5%) remain the most marginal investments.

Also, 13.89% of respondents prefer other investments like the TFSA or even mutual funds.

The survey also shows that more than half of Quebecers (62.2%) invest their money themselves, while 32.9% hire a broker or use their bank.

The research was conducted between September 1 and November 11, 2022 among 624 people in Quebec.
