Singer, multiinstrumentalist and songwriter Cassie Eller became one of the biggest names in Brazilian music. She engraved her name in the memory of many fans and popularized 1990s Brazilian rock around the world.

Cássia was born on December 10, 1962 in Rio de Janeiro to an army paratrooper father and a homemaker. The artist’s name was suggested by her grandmother, a great devotee of Santa Rita de Cássia.

When she turned 6 years old, the young woman moved to the city of Belo Horizonte with her family. Four years later he went to Santarém in Pará, where he stayed until he was 12 years old and then returned to Rio.

The interest in music started at the age of 14 after Cássia Eller was given a guitar. After moving to Brasilia, she joined a choir, played in a samba group and auditioned for musicals.

He started singing in bars and became independent at the age of 19, moving to Belo Horizonte to find a job. The singer’s early life was not easy. She even worked as a bricklayer’s servant and only gained recognition in 1981 after participating in an Oswaldo Montenegro show.

Her deep and distinctive voice made her famous on the national scene. Unfortunately, the singer died on December 29, 2001 after a heart attack.
