Hunter Biden Still waiting for the twist

Hunter Biden: Still waiting for the twist

Now that they have a majority in the House of Representatives, Republicans have become much more conscientious about possible wrongdoing or scandals surrounding the presidential family.

Forget the shady relationships of the 45th President’s children or the scams of the Trump Organization.

Finally a real bomb?

According to networks and conservative commentators, Republicans-elect in the chamber finally have proof the 46th President got his hands dirty. At least that’s the cry launched by Joe Concha on website The Hill yesterday.

Before I get into Concha’s allegations, I recall that the Biden son actually used his father’s notoriety to get high-paying contracts. If trading in a surname is not a crime, it is nevertheless an ethical issue affecting much of Washington’s political fauna.

  • Listen to Luc Laliberté’s editorial on Richard Martineau’s show, which will air over QUB radio:

Let us add that Hunter Biden was in a tax irregular situation and that the Justice Department was investigating him. The portrait would be incomplete if I did not remember that he discovered a passion for painting and that his paintings are mysteriously being sold at exorbitant prices without anyone knowing the identities of the buyers.

What Concha et al. claim is that receipts would also confirm that over $1 million was paid to several members of the President’s family. The money comes from a Chinese company and would have been distributed to the clan through an intermediary.

You know what? You’re right! Hunter Biden, James Biden, the President’s brother, Hallie Biden and another unidentified Biden received different amounts.

So we’re getting to the point, right? Not really. Not only do we have no evidence that the President was involved, but nothing that House Republicans have pointed out is illegal. Not always ethical or moral, but nothing against the law.

The President lacks transparency

It is obvious that the Biden son had an eventful private and professional life. That he associated with more or less popular people is a fact. If you are interested in the list of these dating, the Washington Times lists one here.

I could be wrong, of course, but I don’t think the House Committee will produce anything other than what we already know. It should be remembered that before them stood the tax authorities and the Ministry of Justice.

We’re pursuing the son for political reasons, but beyond the circus, that’s not of much concern to the President. The latter, I have said several times, should be less opaque about his son’s setbacks. When we promised to bring decency and honesty back to the White House, that was the least we could do.
