Hunter Biden used FBI contacts to help a Chinese business partner arrested for bribery

Hunter Biden has been asked to use contacts at the FBI to help his Chinese business partner who has been arrested for bribery, emails show.

The message comes as A whistleblower claims Hunter used a senior former or current FBI official codenamed “One Eye” to relay secret agency information to its Chinese business partners.

Patrick Ho – convicted of bribery and money laundering in 2018 – was general secretary of CEFC, the Chinese oil giant Hunter, with whom Hunter worked and sent more than $5 million to the Biden family.

When attorneys at the Krieger Kim & Lewin law firm emailed Hunter asking for “the names of the FBI agents” he spoke to, following Ho’s arrest on November 18, 2017, Hunter replied, “I’m working on it.”

The first son described Ho as the “fucking spy boss of China” in a conversation recorded on his abandoned laptop in May 2018, and court documents show that Ho was being monitored by federal law enforcement agencies in an espionage-related investigation.

But that didn’t stop Hunter from accepting a $1 million referral to represent Ho as his attorney before his arrest in November 2017, or agreeing to speak to FBI agents for information on the case against his Chinese Communist Party-affiliated client.

On September 18, 2017, Ho retained Hunter on a $1 million contract.

The agreement, obtained by from Hunter’s abandoned laptop, describes Ho as the “vice chairman and secretary-general of the China Energy Fund Committee” (CEFC) and says Hunter will provide “advice on matters related to US law and advice related to with the attitude” would provide and legal analysis of a US law firm or attorney”.

Two months later, Ho was tied up by FBI agents who intercepted him at JFK Airport in New York on November 18, 2017 on charges of bribing African government officials for CEFC.

Emails from Hunter’s laptop show that he has hired attorneys from Krieger Kim & Lewin, a law firm specializing in cross-border criminal cases, to represent Ho at his side.

On the afternoon of the arrest, partner attorney Edward Kim wrote to Hunter, “If you could find the names of the FBI agents you spoke to that would be helpful.”

Hunter replied, “I’m working on it.”

Hunter’s apparent contact with the FBI about the case has taken on new meaning after allegations he was involved in a scheme to buy secret agency information for his Chinese counterparts.

Israeli energy expert Dr. Gal Luft (pictured), who has hosted several conferences with CEFC’s nonprofit arm, claimed Hunter had an FBI mole, codenamed “One-Eye,” who tipped off CEFC executives that they were under investigation

Luft, 56, made the allegations after he was arrested on charges of arms smuggling and illegal foreign lobbying in Cyprus and is currently fighting US authorities’ attempt to extradite him.

He claims the charges are a fabricated attempt to silence him over his alleged filth on the Bidens.

The energy expert claimed that Hunter’s “One Eye” contact was either a current or former FBI agent “extremely well placed who they paid big bucks to.” [provide] sealed law enforcement information.’

Luft claims that he was given this information by CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming.

He said Ye was alerted by One-Eye that prosecutors from the Southern District of New York (SDNY) were investigating the Chinese oil giant’s executives in late 2017.

Luft’s story was told to the New York Post last week by Robert Enoch, the energy expert’s attorney, who is currently fighting in Israel against Luft’s extradition to the US.

One-Eye told Ye about a sealed indictment that named “an Asian, an African and a Jew,” Enoch told the Post.

Ye then fled to China, leaving his mother, wife, two children and their nanny at his $50 million penthouse at 15 Central Park West.

Before leaving the US, Ye hired Hunter as his attorney, the First Son told the New Yorker in a 2019 interview.

Ye reportedly offered Hunter $1 million to be his “private attorney” — though the only $1 million payment that appears in Hunter’s accounts at the time is for his representation of Ho.

The CEFC deputy was described by Enoch as “the scapegoat” and “the scapegoat”.

Ye told Ho he was safe to return to the United States, although he admitted to Hunter in the summer of 2017 that he was concerned about being under federal investigation, according to a July 2019 interview with Hunter in the New Yorker.

Ho was arrested as soon as he landed at JFK in November of that year.

In February 2018, Ye was also arrested by Chinese authorities on unspecified corruption charges and has not been seen since.

Stories about Yes’s disappearance became one of the most censored on Chinese social media site WeChat in 2018, according to analysis by the University of Hong Kong and free speech group Global Voices.

Luft claims he contacted the Justice Department about Hunter’s alleged FBI mole and was questioned for more than 18 hours by federal investigators in Brussels on March 28 and 29, 2019, according to the Post.

About a month later, Joe Biden announced his presidential candidacy, and Luft claims he never heard back from the DoJ — until his arrest in Cyprus last month on gun charges.

“I was arrested in Cyprus following a politically motivated US extradition request,” Luft tweeted on February 18.

Luft’s Israeli attorney, Mordechai Tzivin, told the Jerusalem Post the arrest was “a good way to silence him because he has a lot of information about Hunter.”

The Post reported that Luft has presented evidence to investigators on the House Oversight Committee, which is conducting an investigation into the Bidens and their businesses.

The committee’s chairman, Republican James Comer of Kentucky, said air was “the straw that broke the camel’s back” in their investigation into the Biden family.

“We will give them the opportunity to tell their story even as the DoJ and the White House fight us at every turn.”

Luft is Co-Director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security in Washington DC. It has former CIA director James Woolsey and former national security adviser Robert McFarlane as advisers.

Air friends say he is well-connected in the intelligence community in both Israel and America, and has held energy conferences in China for the past decade or more.

From 2015 to 2018 he chaired a conference sponsored by the non-profit arm of CEFC.

Hunter’s high-level FBI veteran contacts were previously exposed by .

In 2021, we revealed Hunter worked closely with former FBI Director Louis Freeh, who represented Romanian real estate magnate Gabriel Popoviciu, who was later found guilty of bribery.

Freeh also donated $100,000 to a private foundation for Joe Biden’s grandchildren and wrote to Hunter in 2016 offering to set up a DC consultation with the First Son and his then-Vice President father, Joe.

In July of this year, Freeh wrote to Hunter in a “confidential and privileged” email that he “looks forward to working with you in the future.”

“I also spoke to Dad a few weeks ago and would like to explore some future work opportunities with him,” Freeh said in a July 2016 email.

“I believe collaborating on these (and other legal) matters would be valuable, enjoyable and rewarding.”

Freeh proposed representing overseas clients, including the notoriously corrupt former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who was in the midst of a scandal surrounding what was then the world’s largest financial fraud.

Hunter described the former FBI director as a “close friend” in a May 2010 email.

There is no evidence that Freeh is the alleged “one eye” FBI mole.

The conservative non-profit organization Marco Polo, which produced a report on Hunter’s laptop after a two-year investigation, accused Hunter of illegal foreign lobbying for his representation of Ho.

The organization, which is run by Garrett Ziegler, a former Trump White House aide, alleges that Hunter’s $1 million payment and contacting governments like FBI officials on behalf of his Chinese business partner, without telling the Justice Department about his relationship with CEFC constituted a violation of the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA).

However, FARA has exceptions for attorneys representing foreign clients, which would have allowed Hunter to circumvent the law’s registration requirements.
