If your iPhone’s alarm didn’t go off this morning, you’re not alone – Frandroid

iPhones running iOS 17 appear to be experiencing a small issue at night that could disable the alarm.

Have you missed your alarm because of your iPhone in the last few days? Apparently you may not be alone. Some iPhone users (including the latest iPhone 15 and 15 Pro) are reporting similar issues on Reddit (via Mac Rumors).

In a first post it is reported that two different iPhones, the author’s and his son’s, did not ring on the same morning. In comments, several users stated that the same mishap had happened to them. “I came straight to this site to see if I wasn’t the only one. “My alarm clock didn’t go off this morning either,” says one of them. “This happened with my brand new iPhone 15 Pro as well as my husband’s 5 year old XS. Both were running the latest version of iOS,” another person said.

A restart in question?

As 9to5Mac previously reported, since the move to iOS 17.0.3, some iPhones appear to be asking users for their passcode instead of Face ID when they wake up. That would mean the phone restarted while they were sleeping.

Proof of this is the battery menu, which suggests that the phone was turned off for several hours at night. Supporting screenshot.

This problem seems to affect the iPhone 15s, but also older models. Their common point seems to be the move to iOS 17. It’s also worth remembering that not all iOS 17 users seem to be complaining about this.
