IKEA launches a collection inspired by the 80’s and as nostalgic as you want – Silo 57

It’s a time of celebration for IKEA, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, and to mark the event properly, the Swedish giant has donned the rubber.

IKEA invites its faithful to pay homage to its past with a new collection of furniture and accessories inspired by the most popular items of the 80s.

As you can imagine, neon colors, cylindrical shapes and metallic finishes are on the menu. You might even recognize objects that were in your parents’ living room more than 40 years ago!

Extensive research in old IKEA catalogs and many conversations with the brand’s archivists went into putting together this vintage-like but still relevant time capsule.

The tribute collection, dubbed Nytillverkad, has been available in stores and on the Ikea Canada website since July 1st.
