I’m a celebrity. Get me out of here! was reportedly thrown into chaos after Alan Halsall was forced to withdraw following his knee operation.
Sources claim the Coronation Street star was forced to pull out of the show after undergoing reconstructive surgery on his ACL last week.
This comes just days before the new series of I’m A Celebrity launches on November 19, which is rumored to include the likes of Frankie Dettori, Jamie Lynn Spears and Sam Thompson.
It is thought Alan could take up to a year to recover. A Corrie spokesperson confirmed he would be taking a break from the soap following the operation.
A source told The Mirror: “It’s a huge blow but there’s no way he can go to Australia – his surgeon would have a fit.”

On Thursday, Alan revealed it would take up to a year to recover from surgery, sharing a snap from his hospital bed on Instagram.
In the picture, Alan appeared to be in good spirits as he gave a thumbs up while leaning back in bed and shared in an accompanying caption that the surgery went “really well.”
Surgery involves reconstructing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) by removing the torn ligament and replacing it with a tendon from another area of the leg.
Alan, best known for his role as Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, said it could take up to 12 months to recover from rehabilitation.
He wrote: “Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Surgery ✔️ Well, on Friday I underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery.
“I was told the surgery went really well. I know that I have a long rehabilitation ahead of me of 9 to 12 months, but I am sure that with the support of family and friends I will get through it.
“Thank you so much for the great!” Oaklands staff xx…and also thanks to my own nurse Ratched @missdrewmerry93 Any rehab tips or advice??’

On the mend: On Thursday, Alan revealed he would need up to a year to recover from surgery while sharing a snap from his hospital bed on Instagram
Career: Best known for his role as Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, Alan has seen the return of his long-lost mother in recent months
Shock: Tyrone was stunned to learn that his mother Cassie (Claire Sweeney) was still alive after years of believing she had died of a drug overdose
A Coronation Street spokeswoman said Tyrone will remain on screen for the rest of the year but will then take a break while actor Alan recovers.
They told Web: “Alan will be on screen in the coming weeks as we film two months in advance and then he will take a short break while he recovers.”
His famous friends and co-stars quickly took to the comments section to wish him a speedy recovery.
His co-star Claire Sweeney, who plays his on-screen mother, said: “This is great news, I’m delighted it was a success xxxx”
Catherine Tyldesley wrote: “Get well soon darling!”, while Samia Longchambon added: “Rest.” Up. “Rull, if you need some grapes.”
While Ryan Thomas, who played Jason Grimshaw in Corrie, simply commented with a red love heart emoji.
This comes after Alan’s Coronation Street character Tyrone faced drama in recent months when his long-term mother emerged.
Tyrone was stunned to learn that his mother was still alive after years of believing she had died of a drug overdose, and angrily confronted his grandmother Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) for lying about her existence.
Cassie returned to Weatherfield determined to get clean so she could reconnect with her son, leading Tyrone and Evelyn to believe she had beaten her drug addiction.
Cassie insisted that she was clean, did her best to isolate Tyrone from Evelyn, and insisted that she come and stay with him. However, it was later discovered that she was hiding a box of the nerve painkiller Pregabalin, which she had allegedly given up.
However, fans have complained that Claire Sweeney was miscast as Cassie in her first appearance on the series.
What is an anterior cruciate ligament injury?
An ACL injury is a tear or sprain of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The injury usually occurs in sports that involve sudden stops, changes of direction, and jumping and landing, such as soccer or basketball.
According to the journal The Physician and Sports Medicine, cruciate ligament tears are common in young athletes. 200,000 injuries occur in the United States each year.
The prevalence of the injury in the UK is unknown.
Many people hear a “pop” from their knee when the injury occurs.
Injuries to the cruciate ligament increase the risk of knee osteoarthritis, even if surgery to reconstruct the ligament is performed.
Depending on the severity of the injury, treatment may include rest and rehabilitation exercises.
