Havana, October 30 (ACN) More and more Latin American airlines are visiting Cuba, betting on the security of airports, it is an open door for tourism, Joanka Acosta Ortiz, commercial director of Cuban Aviation Corporation SA (Cacsa).
The Board highlighted the basic measures and security levels at the José Martí International Airport in Havana, assuring that it is prepared for the coming winter tourism season (second half of November) with an increase in flights and connections to the South American continent.
Acosta Ortiz pointed out that Cuban aviation is focused on tourism, which recovered the existing airlines that operated in Cuba before the global COVID-19 pandemic and welcomed others such as the Boliviana de Aviación (BoA), which began regular operations for the first time to Havana, weekly (Thursdays), from Viru Viru Airport in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
This Bolivian airline operates with Boeing 737-800 aircraft and can carry 169 passengers on board. Their departure to the Andean country takes place on Fridays and it is an opportunity for residents of this region of the planet to visit the Cuban tourist destination.
Joanka also pointed to the resumption of LATAM operations this Sunday from Lima, Peru, with connections to Argentina and inland cities, including Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, flying to Havana again after three and a half months.
“These flights open avenues of connectivity and Cuban airports reach a level of presence of lines that have not reached the target since 2019,” commented the commercial director of Cacsa, praising the quality of service at Havana Airport for the new companies that have joined connect .
The reopening of the LATAM flight was attended at the Rancho Boyeros air terminal by the ambassadors of Chile and Peru, representatives of the airline and Giana Galindo Enríquez, commercial director of the Ministry of Tourism, who welcomed the passengers and crew of the direct flight Lima-Havana.
