A 24-year-old firefighter died in Saint-Denis, north of Paris while fighting a vehicle fire on Sunday night, the sixth night of urban violence in France, according to the interior minister.

“A young corporal of the Paris fire brigade died despite the very quick care given to his teammates,” tweeted Gérald Darmanin, specifying that the incident took place in “an underground car park”.
“An investigation is underway” to clarify the circumstances surrounding the vehicle fire, the Home Office added.
No official link has yet been established between the fire in which this firefighter intervened and the urban violence that has shaken many cities in France since the death of 17-year-old Nahel last Tuesday in Nanterre, west of Paris, which was killed by a police officer.
The armies commend the full service of Corporal Dorian Damelincourt, who died in the fire last night.
