On May 19, 2022, a child was found dead in the Danube near Großmehring State of Bavaria. The boy was tied to a block of stone and wrapped in aluminum foil.
At the request of the German police International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued a black notice to its 195 member countries to find out who the boy is and to clarify the circumstances of his death.

As part of the public appeal to find out who the boy is, key details from the alert are being shared, including images of facial reconstruction and physical characteristics.

The expectation of Jürgen Stock, secretary general of the organization, is that nations consult their databases and review open or unresolved cases.
“Someone somewhere knows something about this boy, so it is equally important to release certain details publicly,” Stock said. “Whether you have been a victim of human trafficking, kidnapping or violence, we are committed to mobilizing all of Interpol’s law enforcement capabilities to identify you.”
Interpol, the dead boy and the Identify Me program
This case is part of the Identify Me campaign, translated into Portuguese. The project, launched in May, initially aimed to identify 22 suspected female murder victims who were found dead decades ago.
Since 2021, Interpol has provided investigators with the IFamilia database, a global tool that helps identify unknown bodies through international family DNA relationship matching.
