Beirut, 13.01. (Prensa Latina) Iran unequivocally supports the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance to Israeli aggression, the Persian nation’s foreign minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, stressed here today.
On the second day of his official visit to the Levantine nation, Iran’s foreign minister reiterated to his counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib that Tehran does not interfere in Lebanon’s internal affairs and welcomed the meeting and dialogue of all political currents.
During a joint conference, Amir Abdallahian reiterated his confidence in the experience and ability of the Lebanese parties to find a way out of the presidential vacancy.
The head of Iranian diplomacy stressed that his country is ready to build and rehabilitate power plants in coordination with the government in Lebanon.
On this subject, the minister stated that they were ready to fulfill the matters entrusted by an agreement to supply fuel to the Levantine nation.
The Iranian Foreign Minister highlighted the tangible results in reactivating bilateral relations after contacts with the Lebanese Foreign Minister.
“I assure you from Beirut that the Islamic Republic of Iran will always remain Lebanon’s loyal friend through thick and thin,” he stressed.
Regarding the regional scenario, Amir Abdallahian positively assessed the dialogue between Syria and Türkiye, as well as the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia during the recent summit in Baghdad, which would eventually lead to a normalization of relations between the two countries.
On his trip through Lebanon, the Iranian diplomat will also speak to Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri; interim Prime Minister Najib Miqati; alongside various political figures and representatives of the Lebanese and Palestinian parties.
Arriving in Beirut yesterday, Amir Abdallahian reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Lebanese people, army and resistance at the start of a three-day tour.
