The Israeli government announced on Wednesday that it had approved the use of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet access service on its territory, as well as for a United Arab Emirates-run field hospital in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to a statement from his services, Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi “approved Starlink operations in Israel.” In November, Mr. Karhi announced an agreement in principle to use Starlink in Israel and Gaza.
“The minister and Starlink representatives have also reached agreements on access to Starlink in the Gaza Strip,” the statement said.
“Today (Wednesday), the Israeli security services approved Starlink access to the UAE field hospital in Rafah,” the ministry added, saying this would allow the facility to communicate with others and carry out remote diagnostics.
