The Israeli army’s air strikes against the Gaza Strip have increased in the last hour. “We can hear loud explosions from southwest of Gaza City to the central area. There are currently serious clashes,” an Al Jazeera reporter reported.
Amid incessant Israeli bombing, the Palestinian Journalists Union warned of possible plans by Tel Aviv to commit what it called “widespread crimes” while the Gaza Strip is once again without communications or internet. According to the telecommunications company Paltel, the situation is repeating itself for the third time since October 7th.
“We regret to announce the complete shutdown of communications and internet services in Gaza after the Israeli side shut down the servers,” Paltel said in a statement.
The Israel Defense Forces had previously announced that soldiers from the 36th Division had advanced deeper into the Gaza Strip and positioned themselves along the coast.
“As part of the expansion of ground operations over the past week, the 36th Division operated in the northern Gaza Strip and reached positions along the Gaza Strip coast. The division’s mission is to encircle Hamas forces in Gaza City and attack and destroy selected targets. including key assets and command and control centers of the terrorist organization Hamas,” the IDF said.
