Israel surrounds Gaza’s largest hospital, saying Hamas has lost control of the region

The Israeli Defense Minister stated on Monday (13) that Hamas had lost control of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army ended the siege of the region’s largest hospital.

“Hospitals are under attack,” said the emergency director of Al Nasser Hospital.

He spoke this Monday about the situation in Gaza’s largest hospital, Al Shifa. He said 600 injured civilians needed to be relocated and asked Egypt to help by sending ambulances.

Clashes broke out between Hamas and the Israeli army around the hospital. According to the Hamas Ministry of Health, at least 32 AlShifa patients have died in the past three days.

“The health system in the Gaza Strip is collapsing. Al Shifa is an iconic hospital. It was the hospital that continued to function even during the wars,” said an official at the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.

This Monday (13), Israel released a video apparently showing terrorists armed with rocket launchers running in front of another hospital, Al Quds. The government did not say when the images were taken.

According to the Israeli army, Hamas terrorists mingled with civilians at the hospital and after an exchange of fire, 21 terrorists were killed.

Another video released by Israel shows weapons and vehicles that the army says belong to Hamas and are located at Rantisi Hospital. The pictures also show a tunnel starting from a house. The Israeli army said it was the home of one of the Hamas members who commanded the Oct. 7 attacks on Israel.

The army believes some items Israel said were found in the hospital’s basement indicate that hostages were being held there, such as a baby bottle and a list on the wall of guards who took turns guarding the location.

In the southern Gaza Strip, in Khan Younis, an Israeli airstrike destroyed a building. Children were injured and eight people from the same family died. There are also empty shelves and refrigerators in the markets in Khan Younis.

“You can’t find anything. “You can’t find any flour, no sugar, no rice, no salt, nothing to give to the children,” says a Palestinian who moved from the north.

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday (13) that the terrorist group Hamas had lost control of the Gaza Strip and that terrorists were fleeing to the south of the region.

In Geneva, United Nations officials held a minute’s silence to honor the more than 100 personnel killed in Gaza since the war began.

China called on both sides to immediately end the conflict.

“The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is extremely serious,” said the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.

This Monday (13), the President of the United States, Joe Biden, spoke about the situation of the health system in Gaza. He said that AlShifa Hospital must be protected. Biden called for less invasive measures by the Israeli armed forces.

Shooting from Lebanon continues in northern Israel. The Israeli army said it carried out airstrikes against the neighboring country after Hezbollah fired antitank missiles at Israeli troops.

In the city of Yaroun, Lebanon, a convoy of journalists recorded an Israeli bombing. A professional from the AlJazeera network suffered minor leg injuries.

In Tel Aviv, two women whose relatives were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7 called for caution when dealing with hostages who have health problems.

“We do not have time. My grandmother doesn’t have time. We have to bring her home now,” says Adva.
