BEIRUT (Portal) – An Israeli strike in southern Lebanon killed a senior commander of Hezbollah's elite Radwan force on Monday, three security sources told Portal.
The security sources identified him as Wissam al-Tawil, the deputy head of a unit within the Radwan force.
They said he and another Hezbollah terrorist were killed when their car was hit in an attack on the Lebanese village of Majdal Selm.
“This is a very painful attack,” said one of the security sources. Another said: “Things are going to flare up now.”
More than 130 Hezbollah terrorists have been killed by Israeli bombings in southern Lebanon since the cross-border bombardment began following Hamas' attack on Israeli territory on October 7.
Another 19 were killed in Syria.
Hezbollah's secretary general, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, warned Israel against launching an all-out war against Lebanon in two televised speeches last week.
