Israeli singer and actor Idan Amedi, best known for his role in the television series Fauda, was seriously injured during the fighting in Gaza and was flown to Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, where he is currently being sedated and treated. Israeli media reported this, citing his cousin Ayelet and the actor's father, saying his son's life was not in danger.
The Fauda star was doing reserve duty in the Corps of Engineers when he was injured. He was hospitalized and underwent urgent, serious and lengthy surgery, Channel 12 reports. “It's safe to say his life is out of danger,” a journalist from the hospital added.
In a video message recorded last week at the height of the war, Amedi called for an end to internal dissent among Israelis: “After 90 days of fighting, we continue to destroy short-range missile sites, launch sites and the command of the terrorist organization Hamas.” I join my fellow reservists and call on politicians, the media and everyone: Anyone who has nothing good to say should keep their mouths shut. The people of Israel live.”
