If you need to change the battery of an Apple device, it’s now or never: Apple will soon increase the prices for iPhone, iPad and MacBook battery repairs. This increase applies from March 1, 2023 and amounts to between 24 and 60 euros, depending on the vehicle.

Apple quietly added a few lines detailing the upcoming battery repair page changes for some of its products. The warning is located under its comparator, which allows estimating the price of a repair, as here on the page dedicated to iPhone:
The current out-of-warranty battery service fee is valid until the end of February 2023. Effective March 1, 2023, the out-of-warranty battery service fee will increase by €24 for all iPhone models prior to iPhone 14.
If it currently costs €75 to change the battery of an iPhone X to 13 Pro Max, it will soon have to pay €99. For the following models (iPhone 5S to 8 Plus via the three SEs), the process currently costs 55 euros: From March 1st, 79 euros will be charged.
There is a change in iPads, and the following iPad models cost €40 more to run than they do today: iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th gen and earlier), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd gen and earlier) , iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad mini (6th generation and earlier) and iPad Air (5th generation and earlier). Replacing the battery of a tablet costs €109 on average, which will increase to €149.
An increase is on the cards on the Mac side, too, and Apple isn’t sparing its latest devices. Battery replacement prices increase by €36 for all MacBook Air models and €60 for all MacBooks and MacBook Pros. These are therefore €185 for the first and €289 for computers dedicated to the Pro.
Of course, holders of an AppleCare+ contract will still not pay for their repairs under certain conditions. Replacement parts prices don’t appear to have changed on Apple’s dedicated website at the moment. Apple Watch and AirPods are not affected by this increase.
