The new Live-action series At one piece surprised many fans who were convinced they were in for complete disaster, but the adaptation received positive reviews in the first three weeks since its release. Of course, there are also those who didn’t like it at all, and there are also those who are dissatisfied the historical English voice of Goku in the Dragon Ball anime.
During an interview with Bleeding Cool, Sean Schemmel In fact, he spoke without holding back, going against the grain and also pointing the finger at Hollywood and the way it views the world of anime and manga. “It’s strange because I see things from the inside and I’ve watched Hollywood try to invent anime my entire career – he said – And they still can’t do it.”

«I’ve only seen part of One Piece and honestly I think it’s terrible. The live-action Dragon Ball Z movie was terrible for a few reasons: They changed directors before they even started production. “It’s interesting to see Hollywood embracing this genre and trying to get a foothold in it,” Schemmel said. Voice of Goku didn’t rule out the possibility that there might be a time in the future when flesh-and-blood adaptations could do the anime justice, but he still doesn’t see that goal coming close. At least for many fans, the One Piece series has managed to at least capture the spirit of the original work, compensating for some obvious limitations in visual reproduction.
