TVA Nouvelles met with a middle-class family from the Quebec City area to get their take on the measures announced by the Treasury Secretary to ease taxpayers’ burdens.

Tiffany Le Rouge and her partner Sylvain have three children aged five months, three years and five years. With their family income of about $102,000, they receive a $1,300 tax credit.

“At first glance, it is little. It’s good when we try to be positive, but it sure isn’t a lot for a family with three kids, 1200, and a few bucks. It goes into spending very, very quickly,” says Ms. Le Rouge.

Her family allowances will increase by $650 annually to $6,617.

“It’s better than nothing, that’s clear, but if we spread it out over the months, it doesn’t make much of a difference,” announces the mother.
