Jaylen Brown showed his gratitude to the 169 journalists who voted him to this year’s All-NBA team by sending each of them thank-you letters.

The Celtics star was named to the All-NBA second team in May alongside the likes of Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry – a list of the league’s top players voted for by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Not only was he honored as a leading player, his inclusion on the team also qualified him for a supermax extension at Boston, who last month awarded him a five-year, $304 million contract – the richest in NBA history.

As a result, Brown felt compelled to reach out to all 169 reporters who voted for him, given the huge profit he had earned by doing so.

Mike Singer, journalist for the Denver Post shared a photo on X by the posh touch of Brown, who sent personalized letters to the authors concerned.

“Dear Mike,” read the letter. “I wanted to thank you for your All-NBA voting this past season.

“I recognize the power and weight of the current All-NBA voting system and the impact it is having on players like me in the current NBA.” I’m also aware that journalists like you haven’t subscribed to it.

“Nevertheless, I know you have taken the time to consider all worthy candidates and appreciate your vote.

“I wish you and your family all the best for the upcoming off-season and thank you again.” Best regards, Jaylen Brown.’

Brown was one of five players on the All-NBA second team, along with Nuggets’ Jokic and Warriors’ Curry.

The list included Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler and Cleveland Cavaliers’ Donovan Mitchell.

The first team, meanwhile, consisted of Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Browns Celtics teammate Jayson Tatum.

Tatum, who missed out on All-NBA honors and thus supermax status in the 2020-21 season, is now facing a payout of over $300 million in negotiations for his next contract extension.
