Forward Jesse Puljujarvi hopes to return to the National Hockey League (NHL) in November.
TSN hockey expert Chris Johnston said Friday.
The free agent is recovering from double hip surgery. Remember, the Carolina Hurricanes decided not to extend him a qualifying offer last June. After that, he was no longer able to come to terms with another team.
Puljujarvi is currently at home in Finland and has started skating again.
The 25-year-old hockey player was selected by the Edmonton Oilers with the fourth overall pick in the 2016 draft. The Alberta club traded him to the Canes last February for forward Patrick Puistola.

In 17 regular season and seven playoff games with the Hurricanes, Puljujarvi was limited to three assists.
The winger has scored 51 goals and 63 assists for 114 points in 334 career NHL games.
