President Joe Biden recently made an official visit to Canada after more than two years in office. Canada was clearly not at the top of his list.

He came almost empty-handed and left shoveling clouds. It raises expectations of Canada without offering anything in return.

Though he asserted that the United States and Canada must build the future together, we remain dubious about the intent and think we might have the horror of building it with Donald Trump.

The friendship between the two countries is part of a relationship of dependency from which the United States particularly benefits.

The agreement on Roxham Road pleased François Legault, but remains nebulous. The discussions on the other topics were similar.

Chinese interference is being deliberately amplified by making people forget that it was the United States that caused the deterioration in China-Canada relations.

Regarding the crisis in Haiti, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken wants to send us to the front lines at our expense.

In view of the climate crisis, the future does not look rosier. Fossil fuel exploitation will continue and the United States will monopolize battery production.

One might also wonder if the balloon episode wasn’t rigged to urge Canada to increase its military budget?

As for US protectionism, our neighbors will continue to cheat and harass Canadian companies.
