Joyce Randolph, Honeymooners star, dies at 99

Joyce Randolph, the last surviving cast member of “The Honeymooners,” has died. She was 99.

Randolph died of natural causes in New York City on Saturday, Randolph's son confirmed to TMZ on Sunday.

In The Honeymooners, Randolph played Trixie Norton, the wife of Art Carney's Ed Norton. The sitcom, which ran on CBS from 1955 to 1956, followed the everyday lives of two working-class couples in New York City: Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason) and his wife Alice (Audrey Meadows), and Trixie and Ed. Randolph's Trixie originated in 1952 on The Jackie Gleason Show, where she appeared until 1957.

Although The Honeymooners only ran for one season, it became a classic comedy and has been revisited in spin-offs and reboots over the years. In 2005, it was updated into a film adaptation starring Cedric the Entertainer, Gabrielle Union, Mike Epps and Regina Hall. In 2016, it was reported that CBS was developing a reboot under the direction of The Muppets' Bob Kushell. Then, in 2022, CBS announced it would develop a female-dominated “reimagining” of the comedy series.

In addition to the iconic CBS sitcom, Randolph appeared on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” “The Plainclothesman,” “The Doctors and the Nurses,” “Hi Honey,” “I'm Home” and more.
