On the last day of June, the French Ministry of Defense published a map of the location of the battle fronts of the war in Ukraine. Take a look at the most important information:
The general situation is that the Ukrainian counteroffensive, launched in the first days of June, continues on most battle fronts, but without making significant progress.
Nevertheless, according to the French MD, the Ukrainian forces seem to be strengthening in some places on the front, and the uprising of the Wagner group mercenaries, who fought on the Russian side for many months, did not affect the situation on the fronts.
Here are the major events on each front that took place between June 26 and June 30, 2023:
1 Northeast Front:
According to French MD, there have been no significant changes in this area. The armed forces of the Russian Federation are apparently taking a break from operations. However, artillery attacks on both sides continue.
2 East Central Front:
Ukrainian forces advance towards Bakhmout and reinforce their positions. However, Russian troops continue to hold the city in their power.
3 Southeast Front:
Ukrainian forces continue their offensive without actually breaching the Russian defenses. Ukrainian troops apparently crossed the Dnieper south of Kherson to create a southern base.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, the French Ministry of Defense has been distinguished by the continuous publication of maps of the general situation on the battle fronts with great accuracy (given the larger scale used) It contains summaries of movements on the different fronts, be it in the phases when the Russian troops took the initiative and conquered land, or in the phases when the Ukrainian troops reconquered territories.
In the first months the frequency of updates was almost daily, today it is about three maps per week. Click here to access the page with the maps since the beginning of the conflict and to recall all events and position exchanges.
