We have recently received confirmation that China wanted to interfere in the last Canadian elections.
Let’s not be surprised: China, an imperial power, relies on its diaspora to advance its interests.
Algeria and Morocco do the same with the Algerian and Moroccan populations in France, and Turkey with the Turks settled in Germany.
diaspora
Despite the great discourse on “living together” and diversity, the original identity of a small but significant part of the immigrant population can sometimes prove stronger than their citizenship. And the country of origin can try to exploit them without them even realizing it.
It’s obviously not about accusing a community of disloyalty, whatever it may be. But to recognize the existence of this tension.
Nor is the point to blame the MPs targeted by China, just to state that China has backed them.
Canada is a special case because it is particularly well suited to this type of interference.
As we know, Canada claims multiculturalism. This is the main ideological pillar of the country.
This ideology was first advanced to neutralize the nation of Quebec. But it also fundamentally changed Canadian identity.
In this logic, Canadians are asked to define themselves first on the basis of their community of origin and then on the basis of their Canadian citizenship.
This is also reflected in the organization of political life.
For example, such a constituency is implicitly or even explicitly linked to the Greek community. Another to the Haitian community. Another to the Italian community. Another to the Chinese community. Etc.
We understand that this approach favors foreign manipulations. And most notably the interference of China, an ambitious empire intent on burdening the next century and run by a totalitarian organization, the Chinese Communist Party.
And yet, denouncing his maneuvers can earn you the disgrace of Justin Trudeau. Because how does the prime minister react to the information from the secret services that teaches him about Chinese interference? He leaves accusations of anti-Chinese racism.
He does not say that the information reported is incorrect. He is content to say that it is morally scandalous to take an interest in this question and even to ask it.
Racism?
To hell with national security. To hell with the possible rigging of elections in the service of a foreign power. Diverse religion comes first.
It must be said that the Liberal Party of Canada has always had a soft spot for the Chinese Communist Party. Pierre Elliot Trudeau was fascinated by communist China in his time. Here, when he vomited on Maurice Duplessis, he longed for admiration for Mao. This is known as lack of judgment.
And today, despite everything, despite China’s contempt, despite his half-declared hostility, his son is unable to stand up to him. And rather educate Canadians who are outraged that their security is being trampled on in this way.
