Kyle Sandilands took a brutal swipe at his radio rival Ben Fordham on Thursday morning after his KIIS FM show with Jackie ‘O’ Henderson won this year’s radio ratings.
The Kyle and Jackie O show was now the number one breakfast show in the 2023 polls five out of seven times, ahead of Fordham’s 2GB show.
The 52-year-old radio shock jock didn’t hold back as he made a heated comment about Fordham, which retained its spot in second place by a narrow margin – with a 16.2 percent share to Kyle’s 16.3 percent and Jackie O.
“If you want to know what happened to Ben Fordham, he’s among us,” he said during Thursday’s show.
“It’s like having sex with someone and they die.” That’s Ben. “Ben is the dead one.”
Sandilands thanked his staff for their incredibly hard work this year.
“Once again I would like to thank our own employees and all of you. “We retain the top spot overall as the biggest, most listened to radio show in the history of Australian radio,” he said.
As his colleagues in the studio cheered and applauded, Sandilands continued: “Calm down now.” So we are the most listened to show of all time in the history of radio.
“Also the biggest radio station in the country, well done to the entire team.”

KIIS 1065 is now Sydney’s leading FM station, increasing its share to 11.5 percent. It is also Sydney’s highest FM streaming share.
“It’s another fantastic day for us at ARN,” Duncan Campbell, ARN’s chief content officer, said in a statement.
“The positive momentum from the latest poll has continued and it’s great to see Kyle and Jackie O maintaining their lead over Ben Fordham in 2GB.”

“The pair have had a phenomenal year – not only do they remain undefeated as the #1FM breakfast show, but they have also come top overall in Sydney in five out of seven polls this year, meaning they have officially won in 2023!” he added.
Fordham and Sandilands are actually good friends behind the scenes, although they often tease each other and pull pranks that lead people to believe otherwise.
In July, 2GB’s Ben Fordham Live beat Kyle and Jackie O in the radio ratings for the first time in months.
The 46-year-old Fordham had taken first place with an impressive audience share of 18.1 percent, while Kyle and Jackie O followed closely behind with an audience share of 17.1 percent.
The defeat didn’t sit well with Sandilands, who sent a scathing text message to Fordham.

“Congratulations buddy…you asshole,” the text read.
Fordham cheekily hit back, replying: “I’m still hoping you get a 20, so we’ll see you play with your little guy on air.” And I’m not talking about that [Kyle’s son] Otto.’
Sandilands was thrilled with Fordham’s comeback and replied: “Hahahaha, brilliant.”
A month earlier, Fordham sparked a public feud over Sandilands’ wedding invitations after the 2GB star insisted he was too busy to attend his wedding to Tegan Kynaston.
The former sports reporter told podcaster Jon-Bernard Kairouz that he had better things to do during April’s million-dollar ceremony in Orange.
When the interview was brought to Sandilands’ attention during his own KIIS FM radio show, he jokingly brought it up, saying: “He was never invited to the wedding.”
