The Quebec peloton was impatient for that confirmation.

Les Mardis Cyclistes de Lachine has announced that the Néron brothers are handing over the organization of the event to Dominic Rossi, the son of event founder Joseph “Tino” Rossi. In 2022, the latter has often reiterated how much he wished the races would return to Lachine. Could the founder’s voice still echo at the starting line?

“I am proud to accept the relay of the Néron family for the restart of the Lachine Tuesday cyclists. I thank my predecessors for these 42 years of service,” said the new President Dominic Rossi.

30th May

The prestigious criterion will therefore be back in 2023 for its 43rd presentation. The event will maintain its 10-leg format around LaSalle Park over a 1-mile (1.61 km) route. The first race is scheduled for May 30th, with the grand finale on August 8th.

“We are delighted to have found someone like Dominic to take over Les Mardis Cyclistes de Lachine. We are convinced that the organization is in good hands,” said Jean-Francois Néron.

Founded in 1976 by Joseph “Tino” Rossi, Les Mardis Cyclistes has welcomed the country’s best athletes to Lachine, including Guillaume Boivin, Martin Gilbert, Antoine Duchesne, David Veilleux, Francois Parisien and Hugo Houle.

Jean-François Laroche is the one who has won the series the most times. In all, Laroche was crowned seven times between 2007 and 2017.

Pier-André Côté is the one who holds the record for the fastest race. On August 15, 2017, Côté completed the race over 50 kilometers and 31 laps in 58 minutes and 11 seconds.
