metaphysics and philosophy
In 2008, Lana Del Rey, who introduced herself as Lizzy Grant at the time, graduated from Fordham University in New York. There she studied metaphysics and philosophy. For her, these materials were a way to better understand “how and why we came to earth,” she told Vogue magazine in 2017.
A difficult start to your career
Lana Del Rey has only created one project under the pseudonym Lizzy Grant. The project was called Kill Kill and was only available on the platforms for two years before the singer bought the rights to it in 2010.
With “Born to die” in 2011, the American experienced a surge in popularity. The album, which includes tracks like “Blue Jeans” and “Summertime Sadness,” is considered the 30th best project of the 2010s by Billboard Magazine.
From luxury to caravan park, back to luxury
Tired of the privileged life offered by her very successful real estate father, Lana Del Rey bought a home in an RV park as soon as she signed her first deal with independent record label 5 Points Records.
“The conventional society that we call mainstream has made me sick,” she told Vogue. “The white trash side, on the other hand, which is poorer and less recommendable, really attracted me.”
It’s safe to assume that the artist behind Ultraviolence no longer lives in an RV, but those years will no doubt have served as a catapult for her new home.
His debut with Lady Gaga
The two singers were once protected by Bob Leone. As the two were trying to break into the industry by appearing in New York bars, Leone offered Lana Del Rey a writing residency. This offer allowed him to step onto the same stage as Lady Gaga, but without the two artists getting to know each other.
