The car, which obviously sports a green dress characteristic of the brand, differs greatly from its predecessor, particularly in terms of the sidepods. It should allow the team to aim for points on a regular basis and finish better than seventh in the Constructors’ Championship last year.
“I think we can consistently fight for the points, for the podium if the opportunity arises,” predicted Stroll at the unveiling. It’s just about taking another step forward. That must be the goal. I can’t wait to see where we fit in [par rapport aux concurrents].”
Team Principal Mike Krack also hopes this new race car will continue the progress made during the campaign in 2022.
“Last year we made really good progress from the middle of the season,” said Krack. We have improved in all areas. We now want to take another step forward and I think everyone has worked extremely hard this summer [pour y parvenir].”
Krack once again had good words about Stroll, as did Alonso.
“It’s a very exciting duo. Lance is in his seventh season in Formula 1. He is very talented and has done very well in comparison [Sebastian Vettel en 2021 et 2022]. It’s up to us to give Lance the competitive car he deserves.”
The season begins on March 5th with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
