The Scottish hitmaker announced that all 24 of his upcoming shows for his Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent tour were canceled in June, just days after he struggled to finish his headlining set at Glastonbury.
On social media, he said it was “obvious” that he needed to “spend a lot more time getting his mental and physical health in order,” calling the decision “the most difficult of his life.”
‘Hello everyone. Firstly I would like to thank Glastonbury for having me there, singing along when I needed to and for all the great messages afterwards. “It really means the world,” Lewis began.
“The fact that this probably won’t be a surprise doesn’t make it any easier to write, but I’m very sorry to inform you that I’ll be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future.”
“I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and was hoping that the three week break would sort me out.

“But the truth is that I am still learning to adjust to the effects of my Tourette Syndrome and on Saturday it became clear that I need to spend a lot more time getting my mental and physical health in order so that I “I can continue to do everything I love.” for a long time…
“I know that I am incredibly fortunate to be able to take time off when others cannot, and I want to thank my amazing family, friends, team, medical professionals and all of you who support you every step of the way the way through the good times and even more so in the last year when I needed it more than ever.’
“I’m incredibly sorry to everyone who wanted to come to a show before the end of the year, but I need to feel comfortable to perform at the level you all deserve.”
“Playing for you every night is everything I’ve ever dreamed of, so this was the hardest decision of my life.” I’ll be back as soon as possible. All the best from me, Lewis.
During his performance at Glastonbury, Lewis became emotional when he began to lose his voice during the performance, prompting him to apologize to the audience – who then helped him finish his songs in heartwarming recordings that quickly went viral.
The musician had already taken three weeks off work ahead of his performance at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, but recently admitted it wasn’t enough and that he was “still learning to get used to the effects of my Tourette’s syndrome.”
Lewis has been open about his struggles with Tourette’s – a neurological disorder characterized by a combination of involuntary noises and movements called tics, which can cause speech and voice disorders.
Others said the “very moving” performance would “go down in history” while helping to raise awareness of the disease.
Be careful! He had various friends on hand to assist him in the departure
